The Problem:
Education in Pakistan has constantly declined over the past decades. Numerous challenges are being faced in securing quality learning opportunities for children, especially the most disadvantaged ones. As per UNICEF, an estimated 22.8 million children are out of school, out of which most are orphans. Additionally, the literacy rate has remained stagnant in Pakistan for over a decade. It has been hovering around only 60% for the past 8 years, compared with the global rate of 90%, and the quality of education provided also hasn’t been up to the mark. Government schools, and colleges are nowhere near providing quality education. Only the privately run institutes are providing up-to-the-standard education but they are very expensive. Also, the cumulative annual spending on education has also dropped below 2%, which further aggravates the situation. All the while, orphans in Pakistan have been one of the most neglected segments of the society, often denied health, education, and other fundamental rights. Despite over 4 million documented orphans in Pakistan, the country, until 2017, could only accommodate 3500 orphans in its 35 shelter homes. This shows how grave the situation is. It is time for us to make a change. We believe that with your help on our side, we can efficiently and diligently work for the much-needed improvements in education in Pakistan, especially the education of the orphans. We propose a project that will not only improve the literacy rate of Pakistan but will also address the orphan crisis in Pakistan.
Our Goals and Objectives:
The main goal of this project is to provide quality education to orphans living in orphanages. We hope to achieve the following targets over next few months/years

- Securing the admission of the child in a renowned college/institute
- Covering the necessities and associated costs of studying
- Regular Counselling Sessions with a dedicated team comprising of students in reputed institutes/universities of Pakistan
Methods and strategies: Time for execution
First objective: Pre-counselling and grooming of the child before admission in a college
Method: A dedicated team will be conducting weekly sessions with the child equipping him/her with a groomed outlook and confidence to appear and ace interviews.
Two full time program administrators will be conducting regular sessions with the child providing quality tuition in Mathematics and English. This will enable the child to perform in the written test.
Second Objective: Securing the admission of the child in a renowned college/institute
Method: The two full time program administrators will also be in contact with various college administrations and will facilitate the child in applying in all the top colleges of Karachi. After securing admission offers from various top colleges, the child will be enrolled in the best possible institute. However, the final decision is dependent upon the available funding.
Third Objective: Covering the necessities and associated costs of studying
Method: After securing admission, the added expenses of books, stationary, uniform, and transportation will be tackled with. Our team will make sure that the child faces no hurdles in this new journey that he/she is about to embark on.
Fourth Objective: Regular Counselling Sessions with a dedicated team comprising of students in reputed institutes/universities of Pakistan
